
Dr. Kent Hoekman is a Research Professor in the Division of Atmospheric Sciences at Desert Research Institute, and a member of NIREC’s TCAB.
From 2001 to 2007, Kent served as Executive Director of DRI's Division of Atmospheric Sciences (DAS). Prior to joining DRI in 2001, he spent over 20 years at Chevron, where his work focused on motor vehicle emissions and their impacts on air quality.
Kent has also served in technical advisory roles to EPA and was a member of the California Air Resources Board (CARB) Research Screening Committee for five years. He currently serves as a member of the Health Effects Institute's (HEI) Special Committee on Emerging Technologies.
Kent received his PhD in Organic Chemistry from Iowa State University, and his B.S. in Chemistry from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, MI.
