Finding funding is most entrepreneurs’ first priority and largest challenge. In a recent NIREC survey, just under half of Nevada’s entrepreneurs cited obtaining sufficient funding as their greatest challenge.
Funding has always been scarce for early stage startups, and the situation has been exacerbated by the ongoing effects of the recent recession. At the same time, Nevada is home to numerous talented entrepreneurs, working on the kind of ground-breaking ideas for which a little capital could mean a significant breakthrough.
To meet the need for funding, NIREC is incubating a series of programs which allocate the right amount of capital to the right entrepreneurs at the right time. The first of these programs is sponsored by the Governor’s Office of Economic Development, was launched on Nevada Day, Friday, October 26, 2012, and is open to all early stage Nevadan entrepreneurs regardless of the sector in which they’re working. We encourage you to apply for the competition at the Project Vesto website.
