Local Nevada company ArmaTerra Georeinforcing became the Western Region Winner in the Green Building category at this years CleanTech Open Western Region Finals in Silicon Valley. The CleanTech Open is a world wide competition and business accelerator whose goal is to find, fund and foster entrepreneurs with big ideas that address today’s most urgent energy, environmental and economic challenges. A select group of companies from each region go on to compete at the CleanTech Open Global Forum at the San Jose Convention Center November 20-21 for a chance to win $200,000.
ArmaTerra Georeinforcing’s technology uses recycled tire treads in a unique configuration and a non-corrosive fastening system to strengthen retaining walls, slopes and levees. ArmaTerra is currently seeking demostration projects as well as investment in order to scale up operations.
